“I had a very disappointing personal interaction with this provider. She publicly made judgmental comments about teenage girls, including my daughter, questioning their “loyalty” for changing schools without knowing the circumstances behind those decisions. What concerned me most was seeing a mental health professional publicly characterize a teenager’s decision to leave a harmful situation as a loyalty issue. I would have expected someone in this profession to recognize that there can be circumstances behind a teenager’s decisions that aren’t appropriate for public speculation. You never know what a child is dealing with privately. Compassion should come before judgment, especially when discussing minors. This interaction left me with a very poor impression.”
