“If I could leave no stars, I would!! I am disappointed with the experience my daughter and I had with this clinic and would encourage other parents to be very intentional when considering psychiatric care here. My daughter had previously been under the care of another psychiatrist, and important information regarding her treatment and medication history was provided. Unfortunately, I did not feel that information was appropriately considered when decisions were being made about her care. As her mother, I raised concerns and expected her previous treatment history and my input to be taken seriously, especially when medication was involved. Ultimately, I decided the care being provided was not satisfactory and called to cancel her upcoming appointment, clearly informing the office that we were switching providers. After I had already communicated that decision, I received a letter stating that the clinic was terminating my daughter’s care. Considering I had already ended services, I found the timing and handling of that letter unnecessary and disappointing. I also left a message requesting to speak with the office manager and, as of writing this review, have not received a return call. More than anything, I did not feel that my daughter was seen as an individual or that genuine care and consideration were given to her specific needs. When it comes to a child’s mental health, parents should feel confident that their concerns are being heard and that previous treatment history is being thoughtfully considered. I did not have that confidence here, which is why I chose to find another provider. I am simply sharing our experience so other parents can make an informed decision when choosing psychiatric care for their child.”

“I am very disappointed with this Clinic and the way they handle mental health healthcare. My daughter had an appointment with a provider and we were six minutes late and we were told that we could not be seen because we missed the majority of the appointment. I understand Clinic policy, but the girl at the front desk was incredibly rude and had no business working in healthcare. After being put on medication my daughter had 2 suicide attempts and we were not once checked on. We will not be back and I caution anyone that is looking for good mental healthcare to seek another clinic.”

“Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience here. First, if you are hoping to start treatment soon, you may need to adjust your expectations. I had to wait three months just to get an initial appointment, even though my availability was very open. After the appointment, I was then told it could take another two months for them to review my documents and obtain insurance approval. I’ve previously completed TMS treatment elsewhere, and it was approved within about a week, so this timeline was surprising. Second, I left the appointment with the impression that patient access and flexibility were not a priority. The doctor explained that treatments are only offered from 8–5 Monday through Thursday, with a lunch closure from 12–1, and that the clinic closes early every Friday. I explained that this schedule likely wouldn’t work for me since I’m starting a new job and won’t be able to take that much time off during the day. His response was simply a shrug. I then asked if he could recommend any other clinics in the area that might offer more flexible scheduling. His response was, “I’m not going to give you the names of my competitors.” At that point, it became clear to me that helping patients find appropriate treatment—even if it meant going somewhere else—was not a priority. I understand that this is a smaller clinic and that they may have more limited scheduling options. However, if it’s clear that the clinic isn’t going to be a good fit for a patient, I would expect a provider to at least be willing to refer them elsewhere so they can receive the care they need. As someone who has struggled significantly with depression, this interaction was very disappointing. I understand that clinics are businesses, but in a psychiatric setting I would expect a greater focus on helping patients access care, even if that care ultimately comes from another provider. To be fair, the office staff themselves were polite and the clinic appeared organized, but the overall experience left me feeling unsupported in trying to access treatment.”

“My appointment with Dr Hanson was as effective and fruitful as I ever could have hoped for. She was great and made me feel very comfortable.”
